Base notes are Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Incense, Vetiver and Musk.

Aromatics Elixir is the oldest fragrance from the house of Clinique, created in 1975. It's categorised as chypre-floral, following the steps of comparable sharp and robust classics. The top, fragrant note is ruled by verbena, sage and chamomile, which offer way to the sweet floral notes of geranium, rose and white flowers: ylang ylang, jasmine and tuberose. Oakmoss and patchouli note in its base are conventional elements in perfumes that belong to the chypre family.

The moss-green end note is feature of the chypre family, along side vetiver. The nose at the back of Aromatics Elixir is Bernard Chant. The new limited version of Aromatics Elixir became available in 2007, with an addition of a unfashionable atomizer which gives a romantic flair.
